I’m calling this style of writing DJ fiction, because I feel it’s just like a DJ spinning records. Everything is true, but I mashed together a lot of different eras of my life to create this hybrid form of experience that can be used to help change your life.
My boss called me into his office. I didn’t know if I was going to get fired. I had made a huge mistake the week before and tried to cover it up. But my boss found out on a Friday, and I beat myself up all weekend afraid of what was going to happen next.
I walked into his office. I tried to avoid eye contact. He pointed at a chair across from his desk and said, “Sit down. I need to talk to you about your future here.”

The first step I took to find my real-self was going on a mission to destroy the lies I tell myself to fit in. The way to wealth is simple: we must learn from our mistakes, put our revelations into practice, and destroy the poisonous lies we tell ourselves that lead us to become people we’re not.
I learned a lot about myself this last weekend as I took a trip to Denver, Colorado. My goal was to become more aware of my thoughts than I’ve ever been. This is the story of how I won against the lies I tell myself, and began to destroy them like the evil snakes that they are.
I traveled to Colorado to attend a family member’s birthday party. I’ll be honest, seeing my family has always been one of the hardest things for me to do. I don’t know why, but I always feel desperate to be accepted by them. They are some of the closest people in my life; who have watched me stumble through the years to find myself; but even in our closeness, I have an internal fear of not being understood by them. There is a massive difference between being rich and being wealthy. They are as different as living with, and without a heart. They may look like identical experiences on a spreadsheet, or from the outside looking in, but being rich and being wealthy, are two drastically different experiences.
I can remember the moment when I first noticed the difference between the two lifestyles, and the moment I chose the goal of building wealth in my life.
I was at a Christian networking event I had been invited to. I am a sales person in my day job, so after engaging in small talk with a few strangers and looking for business, I found a table and waited for the speaker to take the stage.

In order to for us to find our wealth, we must face the demons in our life that try to keep us from achieving the lives we desire. It takes every ounce of courage and determination we have to conquer fear, but that’s where our journey to wealth begins.
I woke up this morning and looked around my bedroom. Beyond my toes, I could see the daily monsters that join me in my reality every morning. I opened my eyes wider and I saw that these monsters are my enemies. I know that they need to be dealt with for me to be successful, and I began to plot my counter attack against them.
