awaken the soul

Awaken The Soul. Become A Leader. Create Wealth.

By Billy B | God | 6 comments | 9 February, 2017 | 2

One of the most thrilling things I’ve ever experienced life is watching people destroy old bad habits, and replace these habits with good habits that will naturally lead them to purpose, success, and wealth.  There’s nothing more exhilarating than watching a soul awaken right in front of your eyes and become a leader in their life.

In fact, I think this sums up the three steps everyone must take on the journey to find their unique purpose in life:

  1. Awaken The Soul
  2. Become A Leader
  3. Create Your Style and Vision of Wealth.

The upcoming story is one of the first journal entries I wrote as I started to replace some of my bad habits (A party lifestyle) with good habits (honest achievement) 12 years ago.  When I read it now, I see this piece of writing like a time-capsule that captured my mind right as my soul started to awaken, and I started to become a leader in my life for the first time.

There is a fourth step in creating wealth, I realized, just as I started to find myself.

I titled this fourth step:

THE MAGNIFICENT POWER OF HONEST ACHIEVEMENT

I still believe it’s one of the most powerful, life-changing, and life-giving revelations I’ve ever had.  These words still drive me to this day.  This is the secret energy that fuels me to build the life I dream about.  I hope it can inspire you.

*

I am a writer now.  This is my world, and I am in control of it.  I sit here and think about my goals, and I work at my dreams.  For the first time in my life, I feel awakened to greater mission than the ordinary path of life that so many other people have suggested I take.

I feel more organized and determined than I ever have been because I have fallen in love with hard work and honesty.  This is the first time in my life I have valued these two things so highly.

I am learning that dreams won’t materialize on their own, and the fruits of dumb luck do nothing for the soul.  This is my humble opinion based on the experiences I have lived so far.  Achievements obtained by ulterior methods, such as, bastard scams and crooked lies, are nothing but manipulative performances that sham the human spirit inside of us.

I may sound like an obsessive-compulsive, whack-job maniac when I talk this way, but I mean, I believe it’s the truth.  Reaching real honest achievement is almost a holy experience.  It takes everything you’ve got, and to earn it, you have to give everything you have.

I am realizing that there’s no greater feeling than when your own self-dignity becomes an emerging force that rises up inside of you and creates an adventure of meaning, purpose, and joy in your external reality.

It’s a high that rattles open the smile of the soul, and blows open the immense possibilities of the brains.  It’s all natural.  All good.  It is honest achievement.

I am aware that mainstream society may see things differently than I do, and that’s Ok.  Now that I am seeing glimpses of my purpose in life, I can almost see people’s wants, and needs around me.  Yet many are afraid to take the risks they need to take to become their true selves. I understand this feeling, because standing out as your true-self in a world that normalizes conformity, is one of the scariest feelings in the world. But remember this law of nature when you contemplate who you want to become:  Doing ordinary work, and taking average risks, will never lead to an extraordinary life.

I believe one of the most evil lies that the world has created is that luck is the force that creates awesome lives.  It’s not!  That is a lie!

I believe the greatest power that can create an awesome life is the act of being honest with yourself, and then sacrificing your wants, for the life that God has for you.

It’s the work in each day that counts.  Not just one day, but every day makes a difference.  The work of one day adds onto the next day, and each day spent working on yourself and your dreams, results in a more powerful sum-of-days to add.  This sum equals your potential.  To maximize this potential, we come back to what you did and how much effort was exerted today.

How far will you make it in life?  To reach the zenith of potential, you must do everything you can with today, and only after you have mastered today, move on to the tasks of tomorrow.  The hard work of all your days will culminate in the end, and this effort will equal your future.  The sum of this work will be the distance you go in life, and the achievements you will make.  This is the math that will show you your future potential in life.

Once I decided to stop wasting my life, I started learning how far I can really go.  I feel like I can’t practice enough.  I can’t learn enough.  I can’t be good enough.  I now find myself in an excited, determined, frenzied-state when I think about my life, and I have decided to chase my future with a butcher’s knife of enthusiasm and hope, rather than allow my dreams to wither up and die inside of me.

One truth of life is, no one will never be able to master tomorrow, until they learn how to master today.   If you’re finding reasons not to master today, these are called excuses, and you must kill these monsters before you can take control of your life.  I have to fully understand this law of reality, power, and success before I daydream any longer about future goals.

*

I wrote that about 12 years ago.  It became the foundation of everything I believe in now.  Sometimes in life, you are lucky enough to stumble onto eternal laws of positive thinking that will alter the course of your life forever.  The day I realized that Honest Achievement was one of the most vital ingredients in the recipe of purpose, happiness, and wealth, my life changed forever.

I was no longer looking for a quick fix.  I was just looking to be honest.  Work hard.  And achieve honorable goals. My life changed drastically as a result.

Awaken the soul.  Become a leader.  Achieve Honestly.

These steps will naturally lead you to create your style of wealth.

Finding your purpose is huge! I struggle with what I want to do regularly. I know that I’m getting closer, I just don’t know how to go after it quite yet. I have dreams that are pretty big and do scare me (would I be able to motivate myself enough to work from home and support our entire family on my work alone?). This post is great. We all have to wake up and die to our old childish self at some point and decide that we are going to go out and grab something to help make us more than we are today! One way I know that I am doing that this year is by strengthening my walk with Jesus and learning more about how He is guiding my life and work towards fulfilling what He has in store for me!

Dude, Steve, I love your transparency and honesty. I think you nailed the secret power in life, and that’s pursuing God first. I didn’t say it explicitly in this post, but the inspiration of this post directly came out of the new relationship I was establishing with Jesus at the time. I had failed in my life. And it was getting to know Jesus, who led me back to finding success. You know, I think when you’re in doubt about what to do, or where to go, just go to God and ask him, what type of character do you need me to build inside of myself. Build that character inside of you, and that character will naturally lead you to where you need to go. Honestly, I never set out on this journey searching for financial independence, or creating wealth. Jesus simply led me to fix the spirit that was broken inside of me, and once I started to become from the inside out, all these things just naturally came to me. I still have no idea about where I’ll be in 5 or 10 years. But I am 100% sure that if I just keep trying to become the man God needs me to be on the inside – the warrior that I am called to be – than that character on the inside of me, will naturally create the life and purpose I am supposed to live on the outside of myself. Don’t worry about “finding” your purpose. Become the man God needs you to be, and your purpose will naturally come and find you because you will be making the right decisions in your life. When in doubt, humble yourself. You will find yourself, when you serve others, and give yourself away. Amen, friend. I’m just going to add a link to another article, in case someone else is reading this thread at a later time. Passion is so crucial to making the most of your life! You never explicitly said it, but you didn’t need to, because passion was bleeding or of every sentence! Great post!

    • Billy B February 9, 2017 at 8:35 pm

Hey Dan! Thanks for reminding me, and everyone else, that the underlying message of this post is TO HAVE PASSION IN YOUR LIFE!!! Don’t just, kind of live. LLLLLLLLIIIIIIIIIVVVVVVVVVEEEEEEE!!!!!! DOn’t just be yourself. FREAKING STAND UP AND BE PROUD TO BE THE BEAUTIFUL HUMAN THAT YOU ARE AND SHARE YOUR TOTALLY UNIQUE STYLE WITH THE PEOPLE IN THIS WORLD WHO CARE ABOUT YOU. FEEL. BREATHE. CRY. SING. WRITE. DO WHATEVER YOU’RE SUPPOSED TO DO. This post is about standing up, and being yourself, and having passion to live your life. Thanks so much for reminding me of that. When I first wrote it, I probably didn’t realize that it was all about passion, but it was. That’s why, like you said, you felt it bleeding out of every sentence. Thanks friend.

Life has two types of motivation, external and intrinsic. External comes into play with money, things, status, and wealth. Intrinsic however is driven by something deeper, your purpose, the things you value, and what you truely want to be. Your much more likely to succeed if your intrinsically motivated, your also much more likely to enjoy the journey and the achievement when you get there. The hard part is finding that intrinsic motivation. Is it religion, family, having a lasting impact, something else, or a combination.

    • Billy B February 13, 2017 at 8:55 am

I think you’re totally right on @fulltimefinance, and hit the nail on the head of what i am trying to say. I am 100% on a mission to define and discover that intrinsic motivation in each of us, because that’s the power that I believe can change mind and lives, and ultimately change your external world also. I am going to do some reading up on this, because I think you’re comment really inspired me to help me understand some of my personal goals in life. I want to master those intrinsic goals and motivations, because I think those are the things that ultimately define the new definition of wealth for the next generation seeking purpose and happiness over materialistic possessions and job titles. Intrinsic motivations are a lot harder to define, but I think they have much deeper substance, and it’s what I am most passionate about. Thanks for the comment. It truly helped me find a deeper goal and motivation in myself.
