How You Can Create Wealth With The Tension In Your Life

By Billy B | Mind | 5 comments | 22 June, 2017 | 0

Tension.  There are many sources where wealth can bubble up from, and the tension we experience in our lives is one of them.

This is the tension I am talking about:

It’s the tension we feel between the decisions we often make, and the decisions we KNOW we SHOULD make.   It’s the tension we feel between the life we were given, and the life we feel like we’re destined to create.

If you explore below the surface of life, you’ll see that the tension we sometimes feel between who we are, and who we dream of being, that creates the energy to propel us toward a meaningful life.

This tension, I believe, is one of the most powerful sources of energy that can drive any normal person, in a normal life, into an extraordinary life where they can go on an adventure to find their purpose, meaning, and wealth.

For most of my 20’s, I became a student of great writing.  I read many great books, and studied great writers, trying to hone my craft, so that one day I could become a great writer myself.

One of the biggest things that I learned during this period of personal experimentation and exploration is that underneath all words in books, it’s the tension we feel inside of ourselves that truly drives a great story.

I discovered that tension is the greatest tool a writer can use to inspire a reader to become fully  immersed in the realities they create.  People don’t get lost in 1,000 page books because they enjoy staring at big, long, complicated words.  People get lost in great art and writing, because they become captivated within the tension they feel inside of themselves as they imagine and live the story.

These are some examples of the tension you often find in great art I am talking about:

The tension between the quiet man and woman, and wondering if they will fall in love in the end?  The tension between the underdog and the big race.  Will the underdog be able to overcome all the challenges, and more skilled competitors, to win the biggest race of its life?  Will Dorthy be able to reach the city of Oz and get home safely?  Will Luke Skywalker be able to defeat the dark side?  Will Atrayu in The Never Ending Story be able to stop the nothing?  See the tension in these story lines? It’s the tension in a story that draws readers in, and transforms ordinary words, into experiences of incredible conquests and great stories.

The same is true when we contemplate the paths ahead in order to live remarkable, great lives.  Feel the tension in your own life right now.  Will you be able to overcome all of the challenges between your present life, in order to reach your dream life in the end?   We are all born into places we never asked to be.  But can we fight through those places to reach the life that is our purpose and destiny?

The tension between what we can do with our lives, and what we’re supposed to do with our lives, is a powerful force, which if you can tap into, can provide you the energy to accomplish incredible things beyond anything you’ve ever imagined.

The way to do this is that you first have to become aware of your current life, and then you have to become aware of the spiritual feelings that you get when you imagine what you should be doing with your life.   Once you’re aware of the tension between these two spheres of thought, (What you do, and what you should be doing) you can then begin feeling that tension and using it to motivate you toward living an incredible life rather than an ordinary life.

Remember this law of wealth:  The way to wealth and an extraordinary life is through massive, determined action.

Being a writer myself, and a disciplined saver, and investor, I can see at times how it’s this tension within me that drives me to find my purpose in life and create wealth.

I am always feeling the tension in these thoughts, and pulling the energy out of them to motivate me toward my purpose:  Will I be able to overcome the challenges in my life, and become the person I am destined to be?  Will I be able to find and live the mission I am supposed to live?  Will I be able to overcome my fears, and accomplish the dreams I was born to achieve?

I am always feeling the tension running through the blood.  What if I fail?  What if I can’t do it?  What if I’m not good enough?  What if I have to give up?

It’s this tension between the easy path in life, and what I dream of doing, that drives me to accomplish my goals.

I don’t want to fail.  I want to succeed.  I don’t do it for monetary gain.  I sacrifice my pleasure in the present day, for the chance to live my dreams and purpose in the end.

Being ordinary is not enough for me.  Not when deep in my soul, I know I can be so much more than that.  It’s this feeling deep in my heart that drives me toward wealth, because once I have my financial responsibilities taken care of, I can then devote ALL of my energy toward finding my purpose and becoming 100% the person I am supposed to become.

It’s this tension inside of my heart and mind that drives me to save every penny I make, because I know I am on a bigger mission than just saving money.  I am on a mission to find myself.  I have learned that the money I save, the less I have to think about money, and the more effort, thought, and passion, I can put into becoming myself.  Wealth to me, is becoming the person God created me to be.

As the pennies in my bank account add up, into dollars; and dollars turn into thousands that buy me new investments that make me more money, wealth is almost super-naturally created in my life.  As I am set free from the responsibilities to make money,  I have the time and energy to find deeper revelations inside of myself about who I am supposed to become.  My purpose in life becomes clearer, and my opportunities to create more meaning, wealth, health, and purpose also multiplies.

The wealth I am after is so much than just numbers on a financial paper.  Wealth, to me, is the freedom to escape those numbers and papers, and to have my entire life to find the person I am supposed to become.

Wealth, for me, is therefore an experience.  It is an event.  It’s a journey.  It’s a destination where I can have the chance to fulfill the purpose God created me to live.  Wealth for me is a testimony that I did everything I could to do to become the best human being I could become with the resources I had available to me.

The journey to wealth is also the journey to find the confidence and audacity to try to become great at your life.  There are ways that you can become great at life that no one else can.

What are you doing to become great?  Always remember this is your life story.  Feel the tension between what you do, and what you should do, and always choose to overcome the challenges in your way to do what you’re supposed to do.

Allow the tension in your soul to drive you toward this greatness.

great art, how to create wealth, tension

Wow this is an Amazing analysis on human nature and how we need to tension to propel forward. At times this tension causes the reverse to happen and you feel stuck and stay stuck. I feel this everyday when I am trying to better my financial situation by trying to start an online business I have the formula to start one but the minutia is what is creating the tension and causing a stand still. I am determined to use that tension to overcome obstacles by approaching the formula in a different way. Thanks for the Inspiration ?

Thanks for stopping by the blog @Victoria! I really never thought of how tension can have the opposite effect, of paralyzing our dreams, but now I can totally see how all that tension can totally paralyze us. I think tension causes that paralysis in us because on the other side of the tension is fear, apprehension, the pain of trying, and the unknown. Fear is what drives that tension to grow inside of us. Personally, I don’t remember how I started to overcome that tension in my own life and turn paralysis into action. I think I was sort of forced to when I realized drugs and alcohol were no longer bringing me the happiness I was looking for when I was 21 years old. I realized I had to change. I had to find something better or else I would live in the misery of addiction forever, and so I fearlessly started to pursue change and growth because it was better than the confusing life I was living. Little did I know, I was actually beginning my next addiction to personal exploration and growth, and I learned that the tension we feel inside of us is what we’re supposed to do, and if we ignore those feelings, we can end up in really unhappy, empty life situations. Thank you Victoria. You can do it. You can make it. You are not alone. We are here with you. Dive into those feelings of tension, find what God is telling you to do, and then go get your dreams and never look back. Thank you. I am honored you took the time to comment today.

And I just thought of this: Tension is always manipulating us, so we have the right to manipulate it back and use it to help us. Good luck!
